Change video speed

Make a video faster or slower, without re-encoding it.

Plays the same frames at new times: a speed of 2 halves the length of the video and 0.5 doubles it. The sound is removed, because changing the speed of sound means encoding it again. At high speeds the frame rate rises and some players drop frames. MP4 and QuickTime files only. Your video stays on your device.

Changing the speed of a video needs a browser that can run background workers.

How it works

  1. Add your file from your device. Files cannot be added from a web address.
  2. Choose the options this tool offers, if it has any.
  3. Run the tool and download the result.

What you can add

  • The video to change. Accepted file types: MP4 video, WebM video, QuickTime (MOV) video

What you get

If something goes wrong
  • This file or setting is not valid, so the tool cannot use it. Check the file and the values you entered, then try again.
  • This file format is not supported. Convert the file to a supported format and try again.
  • This file is larger than the limit for this tool. Use a smaller file.
  • This recording is longer than this tool accepts. Trim it and try again.
  • This file uses a feature the tool does not support, and it will not guess. Nothing was changed.
  • This file expands to far more than its stored size, so it was not processed, for safety. Do not retry it.
  • The operation did not finish. You can try again once, or process this on your device. If it keeps failing, report it.
  • This browser cannot run this tool, and this tool never uses a server. Use a current desktop browser or another supported device.
  • Something went wrong on our side, and we are sorry. Quote the reference shown with this message when you report it. You can process this on your device instead.
